Chlorine is the most safest and effective form of disinfection. In accordance to Philippine National Standard for Drinking Water (PNSDW), the standard value for chlorine residual is 0.3 mg/L detected at the farthest point of the distribution system to 1.5 mg/L detected at any point in the distribution system.
